American Livestock Breeds Conservancy considers Nigerian Dwarf Goats rare.  The Nigerian Dwarf Goat has also been approved by the U. S. Department of Agriculture as a livestock dairy goat, which makes them eligible for youth 4H and FFA projects.  There are many families that use them for milk, but they can also just simply be pets, of a most loving nature.
